Provided that you have an active internet connection, this will allow you to view in near-realtime all of the recent earthquake events happening on this planet.The information presented is from the near-real-time Earthquake Bulletin service provided by the National Earthquake Information Service (NEIS) of the U.S. Geological Survey. This widget was inspired by a trip to the Museum of Natural History where they have an installed display on earthquakes. Version History Version 1.0 - initial release (Konfabulator) Version 1.1 - fixed various preference panel issues (Konfabulator) Version 2.0 - ported to Apple's Dashboard widget format Version 3.0 - Added RSS feeds, audio alerts, hot links, color coded pointers, window and font sizing, and other bugfixes Version 3.0.1 - Fixed display issues in Leopard. Compatibility Platform: Macintosh Requirements: Mac OS 10.4 or later (internet connection) (Note: the Konfabulator web site has a windows compatible version of this widget on it) Download Information Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is required. If you're using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it. If you're using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it.
